Welcome to Orange Class!

Welcome back!

Hello, and welcome to Orange Class.

We have a very busy year ahead, and the children have made a fantastic start.

The adults in Orange Class this year are:

Mrs Darlington – Class Teacher

Mr Howard – HLTA

Mrs Bull – TA

Our PE lessons are on Mondays and Tuesdays – please ensure children have PE kits in school at all times.

Orange Class Homework

Weekly

The basic homework requirements will remain the same each week, with occasional extra tasks. Homework will be given out on a Friday and be due in the following Thursday.

Maths:

Times Tables Rock Stars – Garage – play 21 mins per week – 3 minutes a day is best! You can check your minutes and progress yourself on STATS.
Maths sheet sent home.

Writing & Spellings

Spellings – practise daily, complete the spelling shed homework sheet sent home and complete the assignment set on Spelling Shed.
Spelling test: Friday.

Reading:

Can you become a Reading Ninja?
Read daily with a grown-up. Discuss the text and ask/answer questions.
Minimum of 3 recorded reading sessions at home each week.

Times Tables:

The more you practise, the better you will get!

This is super important - all children are expected to have quick recall of all times tables to 12 x 12 by the end of year 4. The more they can practise at home the better. TT Rockstar Login will be placed in their reading record.

We are very lucky in Year 4 as we have Oldham Music Service delivering weekly clarinet lessons to the whole class – a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn to play a musical instrument from a professional! These lessons will be held on Wednesdays.
